The Wellness of You, Inc. founded by Faatimah Gamble is a nonprofit health resource with a mission of introducing healthy lifestyle practices to individuals from medically underserved communities. Since 1966 The Wellness of You has produced programs and workshops for over 2500 people.
In 2011 the Wellness of You Inc., was infused into Universal Companies who now manage all Wellness of You programs. The programs include youth programs: “Pearls of Wisdom” and “From Boys to Men”; Annual Wellness Symposium for Men; Wellness Week, Community Health Fair, Universal Fitness Fun Day; Wellness Expo/Tree of Life Awards and the Universal Organic Community Garden.

“The Universal Way! Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Choices Wellness Initiative” is specifically designed to respond to the increased violence, obesity, mental illness and other societal diseases which plague our community by implementing an evidence-based comprehensive health promotion campaign. Universal Family of Schools’ servant leaders are committed to healing, restoring and re-centering our community.
Universal Wellness has introduced “Workplace Wellness Campaigns” to Universal Family of Schools. The worksite wellness program was created to promote health in order to maximize employee performance and awareness. According to the Centers for Disease Control, (CDC) a well designed worksite health promotions campaigns can improve the health of employees and save money for employers instituting these programs. (2013) To date, Universal Wellness has initiated a partnership with Rite Aid and Philadelphia Blue Cross and Blue Shield (IBX) to promote several “Flu Shot Clinics” within the Universal Family of Schools in Philadelphia, PA. To enhance the wellness initiative, the Universal Wellness team offers the evidence-based comprehensive health promotion campaign and also collaborates with School Advisory Councils, (SAC) Parent Associations, Family, Student Resource Centers, (FSRC)’S and Universal Family of Schools neighbors. Topics include; “Flu Prevention” and the “Affordable Care Act (ACA) also known as Obama Care. Future educational workshops will include, stress management, tobacco cessation, physical activity – walking campaigns and other prevention initiatives that will encourage healthy lifestyles, prevent injury, reduce chronic diseases, enhance morale, and foster exceptional role modeling.
